Vaser Liposuction vs Traditional Liposuction
29 April 2016
Stubborn pockets of fat can be incredibly difficult to get rid of. Even if you eat well and exercise regularly it can be difficult to reduce fat pockets in certain areas. It’s also impossible to spot-reduce fat with healthy eating and exercise. Whilst traditional liposuction was once the only solution for excess fat, the treatment has rapidly been replaced by a number of new technologies which promise to effectively remove unwanted fat. Many of these treatments are ineffective and overrated, and offer limited results – except for Vaser liposuction.
Vaser liposuction is often regarded as being the best fat removal treatment in terms of its effectiveness. Unlike other alternative ‘solutions’ – such as laser liposuction – the fat is physically removed. The Vaser technology liquefies the fat before suctioning it out. This makes it a true rival treatment to traditional liposuction. Many other inferior treatments which are available do not physically remove the fat.
One of key differences between Vaser liposuction and traditional liposuction is that Vaser is performed under a local anaesthetic rather than a general anaesthetic. This means that there is no hospital stay involved, and you can return home on the same day. However that’s not the only difference – there are a number of ways in which Vaser liposuction differs from traditional liposuction.
Minimally Invasive
Vaser is a specialised procedure which is minimally invasive. Only a very small incision is made making it much less invasive than traditional liposuction. A 2008 study also found that there was a much greater blood loss with traditional liposuction. There is also much less swelling associated with Vaser liposuction than with traditional liposuction.
Skin Tightening Effect
During the treatment, the heat which is given off also stimulates the production of collagen – meaning that the skin will appear tighter than with traditional liposuction. With traditional liposuction, which doesn’t use the same technology, there is a greater likelihood of loose skin following treatment.
Smoother results
Vaser is also known as a body contouring treatment because of the smooth, contoured results it produces. Vaser targets and breaks up just the fat cells – it preserves the important tissue surrounding these cells, such as blood vessels and nerves. This helps to create smoother contours.
Shorter Recovery Time
With traditional liposuction the downtime can be weeks. It could even be months before you are back to your regular activities. With Vaser liposuction you can go home on the same day, and return to basic activities within a few days. Within six weeks you will be garment-free and able to resume intensive activities such as
